We are a Ghanaian NGO dedicated to growing communities and changing lives — through education, social welfare, and a deep commitment to the people of the Volta Region.
"Nurturing communities, empowering youth, and building a Ghana where every person has the opportunity to thrive."
Torna Foundation is a registered non-governmental organisation (NGO) committed to uplifting communities across Ghana through education, healthcare, and social welfare programs. We believe that lasting change begins at the grassroots — in the schools, homes, and streets of the communities we serve.
Founded by H.E. Ben Dostei Malor, Deputy U.S. Ambassador, the Foundation operates primarily in the Volta Region of Ghana, with a particular focus on the Ketu North Municipality. Our work is driven by a belief that every child deserves access to quality education, every family deserves dignity, and every community deserves a chance to thrive.
Our flagship achievement — the Amissah Arthur Learning Centre in Ohawu — built in collaboration with the late former Vice President Amissah Arthur Foundation, stands as a beacon of our commitment to education and community development.
Three guiding principles that shape every program, every partnership, and every decision we make.
To empower underserved communities in Ghana through targeted education, social welfare, and sustainable development programs — ensuring no child or family is left behind.
A Ghana where every community has equal access to education, healthcare, and opportunity — where the circumstances of one's birth do not determine the limits of one's future.
To grow our reach across the Volta Region and beyond — building more facilities, distributing more resources, and forging more partnerships that multiply our community impact year on year.
These core values guide every program we run, every partnership we form, and every life we touch.
We lead with empathy, always putting the dignity and wellbeing of the communities we serve at the centre of everything we do.
We operate with full transparency and accountability, ensuring every donation and every resource reaches the people who need it most.
We believe that the strongest solutions come from within communities themselves. We listen, collaborate, and act with purpose.
Education is the foundation of all lasting change. We are committed to expanding access to learning for children and youth across the Volta Region.
We actively seek and nurture strategic alliances with organisations, governments, and individuals who share our vision for a better Ghana.
Proudly rooted in Ghanaian culture and values, we are committed to lifting our people — from the grassroots up.
We measure our success by the tangible difference we make — in lives improved, opportunities created, and communities transformed.
We design programs and infrastructure built to last — creating long-term value for communities, not short-term relief.
"Every child deserves access to quality education, and every community deserves to be uplifted. That is the mission driving everything we do at Torna Foundation."
His Excellency Ben Dostei Malor is the Founder and President of Torna Foundation. A distinguished Ghanaian diplomat currently serving as Deputy U.S. Ambassador, H.E. Malor brings decades of international experience, a deep love for Ghana, and an unwavering commitment to community development to the heart of the Foundation's work.
Born with a strong sense of duty to the people of Ghana, H.E. Malor established Torna Foundation as a vehicle for tangible, grassroots change — particularly in the Volta Region, where access to education and basic resources remains a challenge for many families.
Under his visionary leadership, the Foundation has achieved remarkable milestones — most notably the construction of the Amissah Arthur Learning Centre in Ohawu, a landmark collaboration with the late VP Amissah Arthur Foundation that has created a lasting educational legacy for the children of Ketu North Municipality.
Our impact is multiplied through strategic alliances with foundations, institutions, and community leaders who share our vision for a thriving Ghana.
In collaboration with the foundation established in honour of Ghana's late Vice President H.E. Kwesi Amissah Arthur, Torna Foundation co-built the Amissah Arthur Learning Centre in Ohawu — a state-of-the-art facility housing an ICT Laboratory and Community Library that serves students and community members across the Ketu North Municipality, Volta Region.
We work directly with public schools and Parent-Teacher Associations across Ketu North Municipality to identify and support the most vulnerable pupils.
Our community outreach is guided and supported by trusted traditional and religious leaders who help us reach the families who need us most.
H.E. Malor's diplomatic network enables the Foundation to attract international goodwill, funding, and resources that amplify our local programs.
