From digital learning centres to school uniforms, books, clothing, and community welfare — every program we run is designed to uplift and empower the communities of the Volta Region.
Our landmark achievement — a world-class learning facility built to honour a visionary leader and serve the children of Ohawu for generations to come.
Ohawu, Ketu North Municipality, Volta Region, Ghana
A fully equipped computer laboratory providing students and community members with hands-on digital skills training and internet access.
A well-stocked library with a wide collection of books serving students, teachers, and community members of all ages — fostering a culture of reading.
Beyond basic computer access, the centre offers structured programs to build 21st-century skills — from basic computing to internet research.
"A centre of learning that stands as a permanent monument to the belief that every child in Ghana deserves a world-class education."
The Amissah Arthur Learning Centre was built by Torna Foundation in collaboration with the Late Former Vice President Amissah Arthur Foundation, in honour of Ghana's late Vice President H.E. Kwesi Amissah Arthur.
Located in Ohawu in the Ketu North Municipality of the Volta Region, the centre was strategically placed to serve a community that previously had limited access to modern learning resources and digital tools.
Since its commissioning, the centre has become a beacon of educational opportunity — welcoming students from surrounding schools, self-directed learners, and community members who come to access the library and develop new skills.
"A child without books is a child without wings. We make sure no pupil in our community is left without the tools to learn."
Torna Foundation equips students across the Volta Region with textbooks, exercise books, pens, pencils, and other stationery — ensuring the cost of school supplies never becomes a barrier to learning.
Our book distribution drives target pupils at public schools in the Ketu North Municipality, with special focus on families from the most financially disadvantaged backgrounds. We also contribute regularly to the Amissah Arthur Community Library's collection.
"Every child deserves to walk into school with dignity. A uniform is not just clothing — it is belonging."
Financial hardship should never prevent a child from attending school. Our school uniform donation program provides complete school uniforms to pupils across the Volta Region — ensuring every child can attend classes looking and feeling ready to learn.
Each year, Torna Foundation organises uniform donation drives in partnership with local schools, PTAs, and community leaders in the Ketu North Municipality. Uniforms are distributed directly to families identified as most in need.
"Dignity is a basic human right. Through our clothing drives, we ensure every member of our community is warm, clothed, and seen."
Beyond school uniforms, Torna Foundation organises regular clothing donation drives to provide everyday clothing to families across the Volta Region. Our drives focus on children, the elderly, and other vulnerable groups who benefit most from this support.
Clothing is collected, sorted, and distributed at community events organised in partnership with local leaders — ensuring distributions are fair, dignified, and reach those who need them most.
"Strong communities are built one act of compassion at a time. We show up for our people — in the good times and in the hard ones."
Torna Foundation's community support programs go beyond education and clothing to address the broader social and welfare needs of families across the Volta Region. From health outreach to infrastructure support, we are committed to improving quality of life in every dimension.
Our community interventions are guided by the real needs identified within the communities we serve — shaped by conversations with local leaders, families, and the beneficiaries themselves. Every intervention is designed to create lasting, sustainable impact.
Your support — whether financial, material, or in partnership — directly funds these programs and reaches the families who need us most.
